The Senate Foreign Relations Committee, chaired by Senator Jesse Helms R-North Carolina, heard testimony regarding the impact that the recent agreement between the United Nations and Iraq will have on the expansion of NATO. The president’s defense team testified and talked about the agreement and how it will effect relations with NATO nations. The witnesses were Madeline Albright, Secretary of State, William Cohen, Defense Secretary, and General Henry Shelton, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman. close
