Several administration officials spoke about current and U.S. defense policy. General Henry Shelton, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, spoke about how the military is recreating itself to save money and respond to different security challenges. Acting Secretary of Veterans' Affairs Togo West spoke about his agenda for the Department of Veterans Affairs and his commitment to support veterans needs within the administration. The speakers also paid tribute to veterans for their service to the nation. This was part of the Veterans of Foreign Wars annual conference. close
