The United States Senate debated a bill to allow tax-free savings accounts for costs at K-12 schools, and debated shipping competition and a low-level radioactive waste disposal compact for Texas, Maine and Vermont. They also debated the NATO Enlargement Treaty, a resolution to allow Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic to join NATO. During the first Quorum Call, a press briefing from earlier that day with Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, D-SD, was shown. The Senate also voted on a resolution to condemn the Serbian government for actions against Albanians in Kosovo. close
