This forum hosted by the COMPETITIVE ENTERPRISE INSTITUTE discussed the reform of catastrophic insurance which covers for natural disasters. They examined the problems with and alternatives to government subsidies to insure against the risks of natural disasters. They also examined the particular challenges posed by such disasters and how private insurance can be strengthened to be able to accept more of this risk from the government. They also took questions from the audience. This was part of a conference on insurance regulation reform. close
