The committee continued hearings on the nomination of Anthony M. Kennedy to be associate justice of the Supreme Court. Professor Tribe, a constitutional law expert, endorsed the nomination testifying that Judge Kennedy has an “absence of any simplistic, single fixed point of view.” Tribe had vigorously opposed the nomination of Robert Bork to the Supreme Court. close
