President Clinton commemorated the 35th Anniversary of President Kennedy’s signing of the Equal Pay Act. He and other speakers urged passage of legislation to strengthen the laws that prohibit wage discrimination against women. Prior to his speech he asked for prayers for the family of James Byrd, Jr. of Jasper, Texas, who was the victim of a racial murder. close
