President Clinton was seated on the dias but did not speak. Rep. Lewis spoke about his autobiography Walking with the Wind: A Memoir of the Movement, in which he described his leadership of the Nashville Movement and other aspects of his life and career. He first won a seat in Congress in 1986. He was shown signing copies of his book afterwards. Ms. Larned, author of Stone Soup for the World, talked about her experiences in the civil rights movement. Students also spoke about civil rights. close
