William Kennard , Federal Communications Commission, Chairman, outlined the highlights of the coming year’s agenda for the FCC. He stated that every major economic indicator in the communications sector is up. He said that nine million Americans did their Christmas shopping on the Internet which is twice the number of last year. He also mentioned that long distance bills are lower than they were a decade ago. Mr. Kennard talked about the goals for the coming year which include promoting more competition, more innovation, technology, and accessibility. After his prepared remarks he took questions from the audience. close
