Authors Leonard Steinhorn and Barbara Diggs-Brown discussed their book, By the Color of Our Skin: The Illusion of Integration and the Reality of Race, published by E.P. Dutton. The book says that integration has not lived up to its promise because the 1960s legislation outlawing discrimination and segregation are assumed, in conventional wisdom, to work, when in fact it does not. The authors responded to questions from the audience. A book signing was conducted after the discussion. close
