President Richard Nixon’s October and November 1971 phone calls. His phone calls covered a number of topics, including a controversial and contentious United Nations vote on Taiwan; the Federal Pay Board and negotiations with organized labor over wage increases; the war in Vietnam; and economic and trade policies. President Nixon talked to Secretary of State William Rogers, White House Budget Director George Shultz, and White House Special Counsel Charles Colson. Also, calls with New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller, and Mamie Eisenhower, widow of President Dwight Eisenhower, whom Richard Nixon served as vice president.
