The speakers gave their report on Assistant Attorney General Lee’s work in the area of civil rights. Mr. Bolick said that Mr. Lee was never confirmed by the Senate and that he advanced an extreme ideological agenda. He stated that Mr. Lee has used the resources of the civil rights division to pursue racial preferences in government contracting, employment and education. Mr. Clegg commented that the Senate cannot confirm Mr. Lee because he shredds the constitution if the Senate wants to uphold the constitution. He said that he hopes that President Clinton will not nominate Mr. Lee again for the post of Assistant Attorney General. They took questions from reporters. close
