Committee members investigated the status of Soviet naval arms control from a chief arms control advisor to President Gorbachev. The possibility of negotiating limits on naval forces, particularly nuclear weapons at sea, is not currently a subject of negotiation on the arms control agenda. There will be a U.S.-Soviet summit later this month in Washington. close
