Secretary of State Madeleine Albright released a report detailing atrocities and war crimes by Serbian forces operating in Kosovo. Before issuing the report she expressed sorrow over the accidental bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade. The report said that refugee accounts suggested that Serbian forces had executed over 4,000 Kosovars, raped women, and forcibly removed people from their homes. The report also provided an extensive chronology to show that Serbian forces had begun the depopulation effort prior to NATO bombing. close
