Outlining his views on foreign affairs, Senator McCain was critical of the Clinton administration on issues from Kosovo to the Middle East to international trade, saying that Clinton’s policies were “little more than international variants of pork barrel politics.” He said that the president had made a serious mistake by renouncing the use of ground forces in Yugoslavia, called for the resumption of Middle East peace talks, and urged that China be admitted to the World Trade Organization. After his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
