The Senate began consideration of S.2104, the Civil Rights Act of 1990. The measure was aimed at reversing six Supreme Court decisions in job discrimination lawsuits. It would allow victims of religious or sexual discrimination the same access to compensation as victims of racial discrimination. It would reverse the Wards Cove v. Alonio ruling which shifted the burden of proof from employers to employees. close
