The court heard oral arguments in the case of U.S. v. Curtis. Lance Cpl. Ronnie Curtis was sentenced to death in a military trial for stabbing to death a superior officer and the officer’s wife. Curtis appealed his case to the U.S. Court of Military Appeals, a three-member civilian panel. The panel will examine the the extent to which the president may set standards for the death penalty in military courts. Mr. Morin is an attorney for Ronnie Curtis.
