The House passed H.R. 5399, making appropriations for the legislative branch after agreeing to the Synar en bloc, Hefner, Roberts, and Penny amendments and rejecting the Fawell and Frenzel amendments. The Synar en bloc, Hefner and Penny amendments reduced appropriations from various sections. The Roberts amendment reduced funds for a study of modular furniture and was agreed to by a division vote. The Fawell amendment to the Conte amendment was rejected by a division vote. The Frenzel amendment was an attempt to reduce all funds, not required by law to be expended, by 8.9 percent. close
