The fourth day of hearings of the Senate Ethic Committee’s “Keating Five” investigatio included the testimony of Gwendolyn Van Paasschen, economic assistant to Senator McCain. Her testimony focused on involvement of senators in an April 2, 1987 meeting with thrift regulators. She testified that Senator McCain (R-AZ) played no role in organizing the meeting and that she believed Senator Riegle (D-MI) helped organize the meeting.
