Mayor Campbell talked about the importance of job skills to bring people out of poverty and into the job market. He announced a partnership between the city of Atlanta and the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades that would create a job training center to provide welfare recipients job skills to enter the work force. Ms. Chavez-Thompson talked about the crucial role of unions in America. She also stressed that many Americans do not enjoy economic prosperity and that unions must help these people find better employment. close
