Mr. Berger and Mr. Sperling briefed reporters about President Clinton’s forthcoming trip to New Zealand to attend the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit. They said that during the trip he would meet with Chinese President Jiang to discuss normal trade relations, meet Russian Prime minister Putin for the first time, and would confer with Japanese and North Korean officials about potential missile testing. After their remarks they answered questions from the reporters. close
