Mr. Borneman talked about his book 1812: The War That Forged a Nation, published by HarperCollins. The book provides an historical account of the first time the United States was attacked on its own soil. The 1812 war pitted the young nation against the British Empire and left Washington, D.C. in flames, Andrew Jackson at the battle of New Orleans, and the battle on Lake Champlain. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
