Irwin Gellman talked about the first six years of Richard Nixon’s political life, when he was a congressman from California. He argued that this time contrasted with the post-Watergate image of a corrupt politician and immoral liar. In his congressional years he was ambitious, but without the character flaws that he would become associated with. After his remarks, Mr. Gellman answered questions from the audience.
