This event took place at the National Press Club, part of the Nieman Foundation’s Forum on the Media Coverage of the 2000 Elections. Steven Brill talked about how to cover candidates in an election. He stressed that a reporter should ask yes or no questions and never allow candidates to get away with long answers that fail to address the issues. After his prepared remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
