Members of the Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics heard testimony on the fiscal year 2001 budget request for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The administration was criticized for including Russia in the international space station project because it cannot contribute its share of the costs. Mr. Goldin described space projects that NASA is developing and pointed out that the NASA budget contributes to pure science and research. close
