Marking the 10th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) and Vice President Al Gore (D) spoke about the influence of the act. They said that the act was a milestone for civil rights and called for renewed dedication to the principles of the law.

Vice President Gore also commented briefly on Republican Presidential Nominee, Texas Governor George W. Bush’s decision to pick Former Defense Secretary Dick Cheney as a running mate in the 2000 elections. close
