Mr. Peleg talks about Israeli views of American foreign policy in the Middle East and critiqued that policy. He explained Israel’s “low-profile policy” since the invasion of Kuwait, even in the face of Iraqi threats to Israel. He argued against any linkage between the Arab-Israeli conflict and the war with Iraq, and he defined violence against Palestinians within Israel as a necessary response to efforts by the Palestine Liberation Organization to divert attention from the real issue, Iraq’s violence against Kuwait. close
