Gov. Thompson, a former state legislator, answered questions about the trade issues faced by the nation’s governors. He chairs the NGA trade committee. He said that there is a place for the United States in the global market, but that the country needs to expand its trade base. Gov. Thompson said that both the average citizen and corporations need to be made aware of the opportunities for overseas trade. close
