Mr. Epstein talked about his book Book Business: Publishing: Past, Present, and Future, published by W.W. Norton and Co. Mr. Epstein focused on the ways electronic publishing would continue to impact the book industry and provided an anecdotal history of publishing and book retailing in the United States over the last 150 years. He also focused on his own career to provide examples of the changes that have occurred in the last 50 years. He was the first recipient of the National Book Award for Distinguished Service for American Letters for “inventing new kinds of publishing and editing.” close
