Mr. Morrison discusses the Persian Gulf War and its implications for the 1992 federal defense budget, as well as media coverage of the conflict, and the performance of American weapons being implemented against Iraq, in light of reports that Iraqi troops had been largely unharmed by three weeks of bombings by America and allied forces. He also explains the functions of the Center for Defense Information, his previous employer, the Strategic Studies Institute, and the U.S. Army War College and summarizes their findings of the inevitable difficulty of overcoming the Iraqi Army, in contrast to the Iraqi Air Force. Morrison also rejects the notion that American news media may be providing Iraq with military insights. close
