Bills Introduced: 29 public bills, H.R. 906-934; 1 private bill, H.R. 935; and 8 resolutions, H.J. Res. 35; H. Con. Res. 52-56, and H. Res. 82, 84, were introduced. 

Reports Filed: Reports were filed today as follows:

H. Res. 83, providing for consideration of H.R. 3, to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to reduce individual income tax rates (H. Rept. 107-12).

The House convened, starting a new legislative day. 

The Speaker designated the Honorable Henry Bonilla to act as Speaker pro tempore for today. 

Today’s prayer was offered by the House Chaplain, Rev. Daniel Coughlin. 

POSTPONED PROCEEDINGS - The Chair announced that he had examined the Journal of the last day’s proceedings and had approved it. Mr. McNulty demanded that the Chair put the question on agreeing to the approval of the Journal and by voice vote, the Chair announced that the ayes had prevailed. Mr. McNulty objected to the voice vote based upon the absence of a quorum and the Chair subsequently postponed further proceedings on agreeing to the approval of the Journal until later in the legislative day. The point of no quorum was considered as withdrawn. 

The House received a message from the Senate. The Senate passed S.J. Res. 6.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair designated Ms. Granger to lead the Members in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 

ONE MINUTE SPEECHES - The House proceeded with 20 one minute speeches, equally divided per side of the aisle.
