Col. Robayan spoke to reporters on events in the Persian Gulf war concerning the Saudi military. He said the coalition forces were now holding 862 Iraqi P.O.W.s, including 51 officers. The previous evening, seven Iraqi planes had been spotted heading towards Iran, and four of the seven were shot down by coalition forces. In addition, a number of Saudi Navy Marines engaged and repelled a small force of Iraqis attempting to reenter the Saudi town of Khafji, site of an Iraqi incursion into Saudi Arabia the previous week. close
