Mr. Gopnik talked about his book Paris to the Moon, published by Random House. He described the cultural differences between France and America and what it was like for his family to live as Americans in Paris. He discussed how to bring up a child in a new culture and the effort it takes to adapt to a new society. The author particularly discussed the different views on youth, how the consumer market differs and what arguments the different cultures emphasize when it comes to public as well as private discussions. Mr. Gopnik answered questions after his speech. close
