Douglas Waller talked about the USS Nebraska, a modern Trident Nuclear Submarine. Topics included life on board a nuclear submarine, how sailors are screened for the job, their work responsibilities, and how they cope with long separations from their families. He said that the USS Nebraska was the sixth largest nuclear power in the world. The program was filmed on the USS Torsk, a World War Two submarine docked outside the Baltimore Maritime Museum in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. He answered questions from the audience.

Mr. Waller is the author of Big Red: Three Months on Board a Trident Nuclear Submarine, published by HarperCollins. close
