As part of a conference on past and present U.S.-China relations, the panelists talked about Henry Kissinger’s secret trip to China in 1971, which led to the start of diplomatic relations. They also talked about the development of the “One China” policy and answered audience questions. Mr. Lin talked about the importance of U.S.-China communication and cultural exchange.
