Representative Billy Tauzin (R-Louisiana), talked about the Tauzin-Dingell Bill that he co-sponsored, that would amend the 1996 Telecommunications Act to allow local phone companies to provide broadband internet service without mandating that they open up those lines to competition first. He talks about the necessity for the legislation, who benefits and its effect on consumers. The legislation received a negative recommendation from the House Judiciary Committee. Rep.
