Mr. Karnow talked about his book, Vietnam: A History, published by Penguin USA. The author was in Vietnam as a correspondent for TIME magazine when the first two American military advisers were killed in 1959. Mr. Karnow discussed the reasons he believes that America got involved in Vietnam, what went wrong, and what America has learned since the conflict. After his presentation the author answered questions from members of the audience. close
