The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee heard testimony on the Bush administration’s new energy strategy policy, designed to take into account environmental, economic, and strategic concerns in determining sources of energy for the U.S. in the future. Specifically, the policy planned to lower price regulations on natural gas and electric utilities, open up protected wildlife areas for oil exploration, lower licensing requirements for nuclear reactors, and increase funding for research on fusion reactors. close
