Professor Conway, former president of Smith College, talked about her latest book, A Woman’s Education, published by Alfred A. Knopf, the third installment of her continuing memoir. She began her recollections in 1973 when she was first looked over as a prospective candidate to head the college. Two years later she became the first female president of Smith College where she remained for the next ten years before leaving to become a professor in Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s program in Science, Technology, and Society. She talked about the professional and personal challenges and experiences during her time at Smith College and read passages from the book. close
