The New York Police Department hosted a tour for about 75 members of the press at Fresh Kills Landfill on Staten Island, New York. Fresh Kills Landfill was the receiving site for most of the material recovered from the World Trade Center site in New York City. In addition to the investigative efforts at the site, reporters looked at the tons of material arriving daily. To date, approximately 3000 body parts had been discovered. close
