The co-authors discussed their book, The Spy Next Door, published by Little, Brown and Company. According to the authors, Robert Hanssen was probably the most destructive spy in American history. Mr. Hanssen was a twenty-five-year veteran FBI agent whose work involved the safeguarding of national security. They described the environment inside the FBI and the CIA that allowed Mr. Hanssen to remain covert for twenty-one years, even after doubts about him began to surface. After their presentation they answered questions from members of the audience. close
