From the Tishman Auditorium at New York University Law School, Elizabeth Taylor, president of the National Book Critics Circle, hosts the ceremony honoring the 2001 book award recipients. The NBCC presented annual awards to outstanding books in the categories of Fiction, General Nonfiction, Poetry, Biography and Criticism. The organization presented the Ivan Sandrof Lifetime Achievement Award for a Contribution to American Arts and Letters to Jason Epstein. Mr. Gorra, a reviewer and member of NBCC, was awarded the Nona Balakian Citation for Excellence in Reviewing. close
