Justice Kennedy spoke to members of the American Bar Association about his initiative to lead discussions with high school students about American democracy and civic values after September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Titled “Dialogue on Freedom,” the new program will be carried out by the association to mobilize judges and lawyers to go to American high schools to lead these discussions.
