Martha Stephens spoke about her book, The Treatment: The Story of Those Who Died in the Cincinnati Radiation Tests, published by Duke University Press. Her book documents that from 1960 to 1971 over 80 cancer patients were treated with body radiation at Cincinnati General Hospital as part of a secret experiment conducted by the U.S Defense Department to test the possible effects of nuclear war on soldiers. Over twenty-one patients died within a month of their radiations. After the presentation she answered questions from members of the audience. close
