Mr. Kotlowski talked about his book, Nixon’s Civil Rights, published by the Harvard University Press. It examines the Nixon administration’s record on race and makes the argument that the policies of America’s thirty-seventh President changed the debate over civil rights from racial integration to improving the economic conditions of the disadvantaged. Pictured on the cover of the book is Roy Wilkins, Executive Secretary of the NAACP meeting with President Nixon at The White House on February 7, 1969. After the presentation the author answered questions from members of the audience. close
