Mr. Livingstone talked about automotive repair and legislation to require the Federal Trade Commission to enforce rules and promote competition. He had testified before a Senate Commerce Subcommittee on July 30 about a bill that would provide customers more choices in diagnosing, servicing and repairing motor vehicles purchased in the U.S. at automotive repair shops. The bill is called the Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act. Mr. Livingstone responded to audience telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. close
