President Walesa talked about the “battle against communism.” He
said he wanted to remind the audience of all the changes that were
made without much violence, “without a shot.” He explained that
after the victory the Polish government does not know how to operate,
but needs to continue to win victories in independence. He talked
about the need for a dialogue between the United States and Poland.
