The House Administration committee’s Task Force on Campaign Finance Reform heard testimony from House members on the need for meaningful campaign reform. The Task Force had previously held hearings in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Madison, Wisconsin, to hear testimony on campaign finance laws in those states. The goal of the committee is to create and pass a bill that increases the number of people who vote in each election and decrease the amount of money needed to run a serious campaign for national office. Witnesses testified on issues such as regulation of political action committees and universal registration of voters. close
