Mr. Jeffers discussed his book Roosevelt the Explorer: Theodore Roosevelt’s Amazing Adventures As a Naturalist, Conservationist, and Explorer, published by Rowman and Littlefield. It’s an examination of the outdoorsman side of Theodore Roosevelt. Mr. Jeffers recounts Roosevelt’s interest in science, big-game hunting, and exploration. He also makes the connections between these passions and the conservation legacy of the twenty-sixth president which included: 15 National Forests, 51 Federal Bird Reserves, 4 National Game Reserves, and 5 National Parks. After his presentation Mr. Jeffers answered questions from members of the audience. close
