Participants spoke at a dedication for a new exhibit featuring items related to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States. The exhibit, which would open the next day, was titled “September 11: Bearing Witness to History.” The ceremony included a color guard and Denyce Graves singing the national anthem and “God Bless America” accompanied by David Perry on guitar. There was also a ceremony to accept for display the American flag that was hung from the west wall of the Pentagon September 12, 2001. close
