Secretary Rumsfeld and General Myers testified about possible military action against Iraq, outlined Iraq’s threat to the Middle East, and past Iraqi violations of United Nations resolutions. They also called on Congress to authorize military action prior to any new United Nations Security Council resolution on the matter.

Secretary Rumsfeld’s testimony was briefly interrupted by demonstrators calling for weapons inspections rather than military action. The demonstrators were escorted out of the room. close
